What We Offer
Classroom Based Training
We offer a wide selection of on-site classroom based training, beginner to novice. Our training is primarily housed within our training school based in the heart of Essex, Hutton, 10 minute walk from Shenfield main line train station.
OnSite (Trackside) Assessments
We offer assessments to previous candidates and newcomers alike. Call our booking team on 01277 229 100 to make a booking. We travel out to your chosen site to carry out your assessment whilst you complete your shiftwork.
At our Training facility in Hutton Essex
In 2019 we had a brand new all-purpose built E-Learning suite installed at our Training School based in Hutton, Essex. We can accommodate 12 candidates at any one time. We offer full IT support to all our candidates.

Our Facilities
BR RAIL `s Office Facility
BR RAIL`S training facility in Hutton Essex that now has a space of 10500 SQ facility. Three training rooms one E-Learning Suite indoor practical area & offices to now aid. Project management Labour Supply & a Planning department all under one roof.
Training Room 1
All training rooms have been designed to the same Specifications. No matter the room the trainer or the class, we will try to improve your experience with BR RAIL. We have focused on the space & technology of the rooms to allow quality learning for all.
Reception Area
Reception area Is where you would be required to sign the daily register, you would then be introduced to a member of staff and directed to one of the 3 training rooms On completion of the training each day you would also be required to sign out of the daily register.
E-Learning Suite
As part of Network Rail ever changing course infrastructure, we have installed twelve PC’s for candidates to complete all online exams.
Refreshment Area
The refreshment area is situated at the end of the building on the ground floor.
Students can take the time out to relax & reflect on there own or choose to do this with others over a nice cup of tea or coffee.
Candidate Lockers
Piece-of-mind for all our candidates as we provide a lockable storage area for you to use free-of-charge on request.
First Floor Corridor
From this view you have access to the 3 main classrooms, E-learning Suit & practical area.
On Site at Tallon Road
We Provide DC Isolation Level (B) Simulated Assessments from Our Training Facility in Hutton Essex. This is the only assessment we provide at our location All other assessment would be at your chosen worksite during your employed Shifts
At our Training facility in Hutton Essex
We have Onsite, In-house Fully erected Track housed within our training school for our enhanced training facilities.
Conference Room
We have two conference Room areas, held within the first floor of the building, one main room, one private smaller room.
Archive Room
As part of Network Rail Standard and Governing body regulation will keep all candidate and course material for 7 years.
Cloud Storage Facility
Our off-site Managed Cloud Server Facilities store all our office based documentation as well as our fully secure & Backup database.
Trackside Training
We offer our candidates’ the practical experience out on track as part of our class room based training.
Parking Facilities
BR RAIL has three areas of off street parking at our facility. This is also free of charge.
